TSGL: Firefox annoyances--is there an answer?

No, sofar I haven't switched. I'm regularly checking FF about once a year,
but have never felt a desire to change browsers, even if I'm told that FF is
much more secure etc.
OTOH, even with Maxthon (1.5.6) my impression is that there are webpages out
there that'll deny me a new tab, and insist on replacing the existing tab.
Have no idea how this comes about, it may be something e.g. javascript
driven?
My trick in such cases is to hold the shift key pressed when opening the new
window. This generally does the trick. Maybe it's a personalized setting
with my Maxthon...
