TSGL: unused desktop shortcuts

The #@$%@# Message "There are unused shortcuts on your desktop, click here
to put them in a folder where you really won't use them, and I won't go
away I'll just keep nagging you until you do it because I know better than
you do what you want" message (O.K., I may have exaggerated a bit) has just
popped up after a blissful absence.
I don't recall doing anything to make it go away, but I wish it'd stayed
away. Does anyone know of a way to kill it forever (or at least until the
next forced 'improvement'?
System: Windows XP SP3 , currently patched & up to date.
Will
