TSGL: An interesting problem

An interesting problem has reoccured at a ministry where I do IT support. In May '07 we were unable to communicate with our email host (GoDaddy) and tracert printouts showed that the connection was failing in the GoDaddy network even though no other customers were experiencing problems and I was able to get through from home (as were the rest of the staff.) After trying everything I knew (and a lot I didn't) I finally solved the problem by powering down the router. Why that worked I have no idea.
Now in May '08 a similar problem occurred with several websites (all connected to the same ministry but with 3 separate URLs.) We could not connect using either IE or Firefox. This time instead of wasting time testing I unplugged the router and, when powered up again, normal browser access was restored.
Since I doubt that the month of May is involved, does anyone have a suggestion as to why this Linksys router seems to be the problem?
Thanks,
Alan
