TSGL: Yoog - Lee's Problem

No, usually registry cleaners remove entries from the registry and then
leave a copy of what it has removed on your hard drive, usually within the
Program Files\ (Name of Registry Cleaner) as a .reg file. To restore the
registry entries that have been removed, right click the .reg file and then
left click on "Install". After the installation, reboot and everything is as
it was.

What you are referring to is usually called 'journalizing' or 'logging
transactions'.
This may be a complicated procedure in most cases, but does allow rollback
to any point if
partial rollback is allowed.
I would think that for backing such a small file, a simple file copy would
be more in
order.

Registry Cleaners only backup what they are deleting, so using an older
Registry Cleaner
backup would have only added back what it had deleted prior to the cleaning
that deleted
the part of the registry that you now need (is that clear?). That's why
using the older
files from Crap Cleaner would not have worked.
Do you also have Spybot Search and Destroy? You may have an older registry
backup from it
that might help.

CCleaner does have a restore registry process, Russ, and I tried to use it.
For some
reason, all the recent registry backup files I thought I had created were
missing. I used
one of the very old CCleaner registry backup files but it didn't fix the
problem.
